The Time Has Come

I am leaving to go to my uncle’s to keep vigil next to his bed along with other family members tonight. I hope I get there in time as it is an hour long drive. The hospice nurse has said he won’t last the weekend. I knew this was coming and was prepared for it, or so I thought. The man who stepped in and took the place of my dad will be leaving this earth in less than 48 hours. Leaving me. It will be hard to watch him die, but I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. He did the same for my brother and I will do the same for him. As you read this, please say a quick little prayer for him and his transition to a more beautiful place where I am sure my brother is waiting for him with open arms.
