We’re finally home. We never made it to San Diego Zoo but went to tour the aircraft carrier USS Midway. We all agreed that that was the highlight of our trip. The boys even liked it better than Sea World. We were on that ship for 5 hours and still did not get to see the whole thing. IT was HUGE. We almost stayed another day, but the thought of driving home with everyone else in Labor Day traffic did not appeal to us. We stretched the drive home by stopping in Oceanside to have lunch overlooking the ocean at Joe’s Crab Shack. The weather in San Diego had become quite hot and humid due to Hurricane John that had hit Mexico earlier so we figured we’d be leaving it behind once we got home but it’s just as hot and humid here as well. Tomorrow we have a slight chance of getting the residual hurricane rain, but the humidity and heat will still be here. What a way to start the new school year on Wednesday. This is why I never get new school clothes until late October. By then, it usually has cooled enough to wear pants instead of shorts. In the meantime, summer clothes it will be for atleast the next two months or so. I was going to do laundry today, but since it’s so hot and no one really wants our vacation to actually be over, we’re going to my mom’s to hang out in the pool. Laundry can wait one more day.
