This weekend we attended a birthday party for one of my son’s classmates, or as he calls her, his girlfriend. Yes, you read that right. He asked her to be his girlfriend when he gave her a chocolate bunny for Easter and she accepted (and they’re only 7 yrs. old!). Anyway, I digress…
The party was held at a small, local amusement park geared specifically for young kids. In attendance were 6 girls and 3 boys. Every hour is a show where they invite kids up to participate in a sing-along or dance. One of the songs they do is the “Hokey Pokey”. Naturally, all the girls went up on stage to join in. However, the boys refused saying that they didn’t do that ‘girly’ stuff.
Well, they were all talk. No, they didn’t go on stage but instead did the dance from where they were sitting.
These pictures say it all. The first picture is where they heard them announce the “Hokey Pokey” and invite everyone up to dance; the second picture is where they laughed at the girls for going up there; the third picture is where they were now actively participating and putting their “whole body in” and of course the third picture is where they were “turning themselves around, that’s what it’s all about!”.
Hey, I guess as long as you stay in your seat to do the “Hokey Pokey” you’re still considered cool. At least, that’s what they told me. Who knew?!
Stop by Tracey’s if you would like to participate in Best Shot Monday.
