Getting Back into the Groove of Things

Vacation is over and it’s back to the real world. These are three of my favorite pics out of the 362 that I took. We’re trying to get back into the school routines and it’s been so hard. None of us are used to getting up before 8:30 or so and now we’re up at 6:45 a.m. Everyone’s body clock is off so hopefully by Monday it will be easier.
Austin started the first day of Junior High School and was terribly upset when I picked him up from school yesterday. He got lost going to one of his classes and arrived late and he said that the day went downhill from there. He says his math teacher is mean and had the whole class afraid to talk or ask any questions. And, none of his friends are in his classes. It was really heart breaking to see him so upset, but after a lot of talking and hugs, he seems much better this morning. I totally remember the first day at junior high school and it wasn’t easy. I really felt for him.
Owen, on the other hand, cried last night because he said he didn’t want to wait all night to go back to school because it was so fun. He loves his new teacher and loves his class. At least one of them is happy!
I myself, after spending my first summer home with the boys, are missing them terribly. We had so much fun together during the summer. I feel kind of lost as to what to do with myself after being with the boys all day to now being all alone again. I thought I would be glad to have them going back to school. Sigh. It’s going to be an adjustment for all of us. Hopefully next week will be better. Until then, I’ll go make myself a cup of coffee and figure out what to do around here!
